The Deluxe Custom Organic Mattress is designed for sleepers who want complete control over how their mattress feels for years to come.

Built with 10 inches of pressure-relieving GOLS-certified organic latex, the Deluxe features Obasan’s most versatile customization system. In addition to a fully adjustable zoned middle layer, the base can be tailored to Medium or Firm support to get your perfect fit.

For couples, an optional dual-split base layer allows each side of the mattress to feel different without disrupting the shared sleep surface. Finished with a thicker, plush organic topper, the Deluxe delivers exceptional comfort, responsiveness, and long-term adaptability.

For best performance, your Obasan mattress should be placed on a firm, supportive foundation with built-in breathability, such as wooden slats or a ventilated platform base. See our Obasan Foundations.

Slatted Base/Foundation

We recommend a slatted mattress base or foundation with:

  • Metal or wooden slats spaced no more than 3” apart
  • Slats that are  2” - 6” wide
  • A centre support bar running vertically down the middle of the frame
  • One or more centre legs to further support the centre beam. This becomes especially helpful for larger mattresses (Queen, King, or California King).

Solid Wood Base/Foundation

If your foundation has a solid wood surface, it must include ventilation for airflow. We recommend: 

  • Vent holes approximately 1” in diameter
  • Spaced about 12-15” apart

Please ensure it has holes or vents for recommended breathability. We typically recommend holes of about 1" diameter every 12-15" apart.

Mattress Care:

  • Do not wash any components of your mattress. If necessary, spot clean with a mild soap and very little water. Air dry.
  • Flip the first two layers every 6 months to extend the lifespan of your mattress. Alternate the rotation each time: first rotation head to toe, next rotation left to right, and continue alternating.
  • Do not place mattress layers in direct sunlight or direct heat source.
  • In order for your mattress to breathe properly, we recommend placing your mattress on an Obasan Foundation or an equivalent solid wood slat base. If you’re unsure if your foundation will work, one of our Sleep Experts would be happy to help you. (Link to Contact Page)

Topper (Included) Care:

  • Do not wash any components.
  • Please open the topper within 30 days of receiving the product. 
  • Do not allow the topper to get wet.
  • For spot cleaning, gently scrub with a light soap and very little water. Air dry.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight or direct heat source.
  • Flip or rotate the topper every 2–4 weeks, alternating rotation each time: first rotation head to toe, next rotation left to right, and continue alternating.
  • It's important to note that the topper will conform to the surface it is placed on. If there are any indentations on your mattress, the topper will also adopt the same contours.
  • 20-year limited warranty: First 10 years non-prorated. Second 10 years prorated from day one.

The Deluxe Mattress is designed using Obasan’s Multi-Zone Customization System. The mattress has three main layers: a Comfort Top Layer that provides a smooth, consistent sleep surface, a Modular Middle Layer made of six individual organic latex blocks for personalized zoning (three latex blocks for Twin, Twin XL, and Double), and a customizable Medium, Firm, or Dual-Split (for Queen sizes and up) Bottom Layer. By adjusting the middle layer zones, you can target the shoulders, spine, and legs to relieve pressure points and optimize comfort.

Yes. The Deluxe offers a dual-split base option in addition to the completely customizable core layers, allowing each side to be customized independently without affecting the shared sleep surface, so couples with different firmness preferences can sleep soundly. The core layers are also adjustable so you can alter the support at your shoulders, spine, and legs as needed.

Yes. The Deluxe Mattress’ modular multi-zone system is designed for you to customize the firmness of each zone at home. Simply unzip the mattress cover, peel it back, and adjust or flip the layers as needed. We recommend flipping and rotating the layers once every six months to maximize your mattress’ lifespan. For best results, we also recommend contacting one of our sleep specialists during the adjustment process to ensure proper alignment and ergonomics.
